Meet Dr. Tamara M. Strouth
I truly enjoy being a dentist, and I honestly cannot imagine doing anything else! Being able to help people on a daily basis is the most wonderful experience, and I feel so grateful for the opportunity to make a positive difference in peoples’ lives. Whether I’m helping relieve my patients’ discomfort, of sharing in a life altering experience by changing how my patients feel about themselves, working in dentistry is a very rewarding profession. It is my goal to help all of our patients achieve optimal dental health by providing the necessary treatments for a functional, beautiful smile, in a warm, friendly, and caring environment.
Education
I first knew I wanted to become a dentist in the 8th grade. I worked hard growing up to achieve this goal, and now, after practicing dentistry for over ten years, I still feel that I made the right choice! Before becoming a dentist, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry.
Continuing Education
Dentistry is an ever-changing profession, and the different treatments and techniques that we use are always improving. Our entire team is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest and most innovative dental technologies and procedures by participating in extensive continuing education. We are deeply invested in our patients’ health, and we strive to provide the best possible care. Our team has studied with world-renowned dentists including Dr. Frank Spear, and we are involved with Spear Education, as well as being active members of the Faculty Study Club at The Scottsdale Center for Dentistry in Scottsdale, AZ, helping to mentor and teach other dental professionals from across the country. We are graduates of DOCS- Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, The Pankey Institute, and The Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education. Our certifications include Invisalign Premier Providers, IMTEC Mini Implants, DOCS- Sedation Dentistry, Zoom Whitening, and CEREC CAD/CAM Dentistry for same-day porcelain restorations.
Personal
I am a native of Maryland, and after leaving to attend dental school, I am glad to be back, living and working in the communities I know and love. When I’m not at the practice, I enjoy art, especially photography and painting, going boating, gardening, wine tasting, traveling, and spending time with my husband. We were happy to welcome our new baby girl, Maya, in June of 2011. I enjoy taking time to give back to the community, and I am involved with several local organizations, including the Rotary Club, the Maryland Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped's initiative called Donated Dental Services (DDS), as well as being the founder of the Strouth Scholarship Fund.
