Meet Dr. Tamara Strouth, DDS

Dr. Tamara M. Strouth

I truly enjoy being a dentist, and I honestly cannot imagine doing anything else! Being able to help people on a daily basis is the most wonderful experience, and I feel so grateful for the opportunity to make a positive difference in peoples’ lives. Whether I’m helping relieve my patients’ discomfort, of sharing in a life altering experience by changing how my patients feel about themselves, working in dentistry is a very rewarding profession. It is my goal to help all our patients achieve optimal dental health by providing the necessary treatments for a functional, beautiful smile, in a warm, friendly, and caring environment.

Education

I first knew I wanted to become a dentist in the 8th grade. I worked hard growing up to achieve this goal, and now, after practicing dentistry since 1999, I still feel that I made the right choice! Before becoming a dentist, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry.

Dentistry is an ever-changing profession, and the different treatments and techniques that we use are always improving. Our entire team is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest and most innovative dental technologies and procedures by participating in extensive continuing education. We are deeply invested in our patients’ health, and we strive to provide the best possible care. Our team has studied with world-renowned dentists across the country and bring that knowledge back to our practice to provide the best possible care for our patients. I am a graduate of The Pankey Institute, The Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education, Spear Education, Nobel Biocare Clinical Residency and more recently, The Tongue Tied Academy, Airway Health Solutions residency and am an Ambassador of The Breathe Institute. I am also a member of the ADA, AGD, MSDA, Patuxent Dental Society and Bob Barkley Study Club. My certifications include Invisalign Premier Providers, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, Airway Health Solutions Airway Dentist, and MyoMentor myofunctional therapy.

I am a native of Maryland, and after leaving to attend dental school, I am glad to be back, living and working in the communities I know and love. When I’m not at the practice, I enjoy art, especially photography, boating, gardening, traveling, and spending time with my husband and daughter. I enjoy taking time to give back to the community, and I am involved with several local organizations, including the Maryland Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped’s initiative called Donated Dental Services (DDS), Mission of Mercy, as well as being the founder of the Strouth Scholarship, providing scholarships to young women pursuing an education in science, technology, engineering or math with special consideration given to someone studying Dentistry or Dental Hygiene.
